ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP

Flo by Moen x Cabrillo Coastal Insurance Relationship

  1. What is the pricing for the Smart Water Shutoff for consumers referred by Cabrillo Coastal?
    • $600 for the smaller Smart Water Shutoff, including standard professional installation (suited for water lines 1’’ and smaller).

    • $850 for the larger Smart Water Shutoff, including standard professional installation (suited for water lines 1.25’’- 1.5’’).
  1. What states is this available in?

Alabama, California, Delaware, Florida, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Jersey, Rhode Island, South Carolina , Texas and Virginia.

  1. Are there any additional installation fees associated with the bundle purchase on Meetflo.com/Cabrillo-Coastal?
    • Standard installation is included in the bundle purchase (device +standard  installation). Standard installation includes:
      • Installation of one customer-supplied Smart Water Shutoff on a single family residential property
      • Testing and checking for leaks upon installation
      • Assistance with ensuring your Smart Water Shutoff is properly functioning
      • Cleaning up debris

  • Upon arriving at the home, the MoenPro may determine that the home is not compatible for a standard install, and additional work is required in order to install the device. This is referred to a non-standard install, and a home that requires a non-standard install will incur additional fees on top of the bundle install flat rate purchased through meetflo.com/cabrillo-coastal.

A non-standard install includes but is not limited to:

    • Installations where there is no power outlet within 10 feet of the home’s water supply line. This can be resolved with a Flo by Moen low voltage 25-foot extension cord (available for purchase as an accessory on meetflo.com).

    • Any additional services required to access the power outlet, including drilling through walls. The addition of a power outlet in your home would require a visit by a qualified electrician.

    • Additional work required to rectify pre-existing issues on the plumbing system before the standard installation can be performed (i.e., abnormal pressure, leaking or non-operational main water shutoff valve), which may require additional materials and labor (i.e., installation/repair of pressure regulating valve and/or main water shutoff valve).

    • Installations where the main water supply line is not exposed and/or accessible (i.e. below ground, in a wall). This may require opening up drywall, digging and/or adding an enclosure for insulation from freezing temperatures.

    • Installations where the main water supply line material is something other than PVC, CPVC, copper, brass, polyethylene and/or PEX. Additionally, the standard installation does not include installation on galvanized water lines.

    • Installations where the home’s water is supplied from a well system but does not have an operational sediment filter with at least 150 micron filter. This may require additional labor and materials (i.e., special piping, fittings, filters, strainers).

Note: If the well system does have a sediment filter, with at least a 150 micron filter, installation can commence, assuming there is at least 4 inches of uninterrupted supply line after the filtration system (click here for more information on well system installations).

      • Modifying existing plumbing to include integration of irrigation systems.

      • Modifying existing plumbing to exclude a fire suppression system (if one is present).
      • Note: If a fire sprinkler system is present, the Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff must be installed after the branch to the sprinkler system so that it will not interfere with its operation.

    • Installations where there is not enough accessible uninterrupted straight pipe after your manual shutoff valve and/or pressure reducing valve (some homes may not have a manual shutoff and/or pressure reducing valve) on the main water supply line. In order for our installation partner to be able to install the Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff in-line on the existing water line, they may need to re-route the water line so as to create a “loop” to fit the Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff if needed. If neither of these options are available, installation may require additional labor and/or materials (i.e., special piping, fittings).

    • Adding bracing or brackets to support weight of plumbing and/or the Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff.

    • Adding WiFi range extenders or equipment if your WiFi signal does not reach the Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff.

  • These scenarios are uncommon; in the majority of cases, all costs will be covered by your included Flo by Moen Smart Water Installation.  And in the rare cases where corrections are needed that would lead to additional fees, it is your option to complete them or not. If you decide not to, you are entitled to a full refund of your purchase.

How to purchase:

  1. How does a consumer receive the Cabrillo Coastal offer?}

    Consumers should visit
    meetflo.com/cabrillo-coastal.

  2. What are the installation requirements for a Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff?

To meet the installation requirements, a consumer needs to have the following: an above ground and accessible main water supply line, a main water supply line that is 1.5’’ or smaller, a standard power outlet, a smartphone (iPhone® or Android™) and home Wi-Fi.

  3. What happens after a consumer purchases a Flo by Moen device online?

Consumers will receive an email post-purchase thanking them for their purchase.  Flo by Moen will then ship the device and send the consumer a second email 3-5 days post-purchase with instructions on how to pair the device to Wi-Fi. Once the device is paired to Wi-Fi, the consumer will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to coordinate a date and time for installation of the device with a Flo by Moen local, professional and verified installer (the MoenPro Network).

  4. How does the consumer get the device installed?

Once the device has been delivered, our installation team here at Flo by Moen will reach out to the consumer to coordinate a date and time for a Flo by Moen local, professional and verified installer (the MoenPro Network) to install the device.

  5. What is the difference between purchasing the device + installation through the Cabrillo Coastal offer vs. purchasing the device on the meetflo.com website, Amazon, or other retailers?

The 1’’ or smaller device retails for $499, and the 1.25’’- 1.5’’ device retails for $799. In addition to the device, the consumer would also need to purchase installation which can vary between $300 - $1000 depending on the cost of labor per state and the size of the shutoff device. The Cabrillo Coastal’ bundled device and installation takes the variability out of price, and provides a discounted flat rate offer.

  6. How does a new homeowner know if a Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff is already installed on their home, and how do they activate the device to monitor their usage?

    • If a consumer moves into a home with a Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff already installed, and assuming the consumer had no insight from the previous owner, they would need to call the Flo by Moen support line at 844-633-8356 to make sure the device is not linked to the previous owner.

    • They would then download the Flo by Moen app and create a Flo by Moen account just as any new Flo by Moen consumer would do. Once the account is created, the app will prompt the consumer to “Add a New Device” and walk them through the steps to pair their Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff to their account and their home’s Wi-Fi.

    • Once the new owner has the device connected to their Flo by Moen account, they will be able to download a new insurance certification letter when they log into their Flo by Moen Portal online at user.meetflo.com using the same login they created on the app.
